At Happy Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, we believe every child deserves a happy and stress-free dental experience. Our mission is to provide high-quality, minimally invasive care in a space that’s warm, welcoming, and above all, fun! Led by board-certified pediatric dentist Dr. Tanvi Patel, we combine clinical expertise with a compassionate, down-to-earth approach that puts both parents and little patients at ease.

Get to know our pediatric specialist
Dr. Tanvi Patel
Born in Dallas and raised between Texas and India, Dr. Tanvi Patel brings a unique blend of curiosity, warmth, and cultural perspective to pediatric dentistry. Her love for mentoring, teaching, and hands-on creativity—paired with a lifelong passion for art—naturally guided her toward a career in dentistry. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, followed by dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA).
Before specializing in pediatrics, Dr. Tanvi spent five years practicing as a general dentist, caring for both adults and children. During this time, she also served as an Associate Clinical Professor, teaching and mentoring future dental professionals—a role that strengthened her passion for education and inspiring the next generation. Outside of dentistry, she was actively involved in teaching dance and mentoring youth in her community, experiences that deepened her desire to work closely with children and support their growth.
These combined passions ultimately led her back to UT Health San Antonio, where she completed her Pediatric Dentistry Residency. During her training, she continued her commitment to education by serving as a Teaching Assistant, helping guide students through the early stages of their dental careers. It was here that she fully embraced what she had always known—that pediatrics was where her heart truly belonged.
Dr. Tanvi is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).
Outside the office, Dr. Tanvi is a self-proclaimed Harry Potter superfan, Disney enthusiast, and lover of travel, hiking, painting, and dance. She and her husband enjoy exploring new cultures, cheering on Dallas sports teams, and spending quality time with their large extended family.

We take our time getting to know your family, explaining every step in kid-friendly terms, and making sure everyone feels at ease. Dr. Tanvi and our team will perform a gentle exam, answer all your questions, and give your child high-fives for being awesome!

Our office was designed from the ground up with kids in mind. From soothing colors and sensory-friendly touches to interactive entertainment and cozy amenities, we've crafted a space where every child can feel safe and excited about their visit—and parents can feel at ease too.
Dental technology that makes visits easier
We use the latest tools and techniques to deliver gentle, effective care. With minimally invasive options like sealants and SDF, we help preserve natural teeth and avoid complex treatment. We also offer SOAN, a tooth-targeted numbing system that reduces discomfort and eases injection anxiety.
Nitrous Oxide (“Laughing Gas”)
For kiddos who feel nervous at the dentist, nitrous oxide offers a safe, gentle way to help them relax. It’s easy to use, takes effect quickly, and helps melt away anxiety so your child can feel calm and comfortable throughout their visit.
Kid friendly playroom
Before their appointment, kids can relax and have fun in the playroom—complete with books, an interactive TV, and a sensory wall. It’s all designed to help little ones feel safe and soothed before they sit in the chair.
Beverage station for parents
We haven’t forgotten about caregivers! Our beverage nook offers coffee, water, and kid-friendly drinks so you can sit back and relax while we take care of your child.
Comfort tools for kids with special needs
We offer weighted blankets and a gentle, low-stimulation approach to help children with sensory sensitivities have a calm and positive experience at the dentist.
Digital X-Rays
Our digital X-rays use low-radiation imaging to keep your child safe while providing clear, fast pictures of growing teeth. This technology allows us to diagnose accurately, catch concerns early, and create the most informed treatment plan—without the wait or worry.
Building connections in our community
Happy Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is excited to grow our roots in Frisco and the surrounding area. While we don’t have formal partnerships just yet, we're eager to build connections with local schools, family-friendly events, and parenting groups throughout the community. We believe in showing up, being present, and giving back however we can.
